The last day of 27

Tomorrow is my 28th birthday. I used to celebrate birthdays (and I still do) but recently I've started really recognizing the fact that today is the last day I'll be 27. Ever. Never again in my life will I be 27 after today. And a year ago today it was the last day I would ever be 26. And a year from now will be the last day I will be 28. And so life will go on (hopefully). It's not so much that I lament growing older and adding another year onto my age. "How old are you?" "28" is not a conversation that depresses me, it's just that I am overly nostalgic about everything and the idea that I'll never again be 27 strikes me.

And everything strikes me these days. And breaks my heart.

And just because I think this is so darn cute:

24 and counting

Holy crap, I'm 24 now. And let me tell you what I didn't think would be the way it is!
-Just barely graduated from college. At least it's not 30 and just graduated.
-No children. Trying, but none yet.
-Just as lazy as I was when I was 18.
-An astonishing lack of socializing...
-I watch more BBC America than any other station!
-Only been to the temple twice so far in my life. I'll make that 3 this weekend (I hope!)

So, just so you know, I have followed the ranks of what I am sure is thousands of people, in the starting of a blog after watching Julie & Julia. Joining me in the ranks is my husband, who has started writing about his comic-book reading.

I don't know what mine will be about. I just want to have a place to write. I love writing in my journal, but this is just another place.
